Sorbitol is a mono sugar alcohol made after enzymolysis and refined processing of starch into glucose, hydrogenation reduction, refinement and crystallization with the function of catalyst. Sorbitol crystal has four crystal forms—α, β, γ and δ. Huakang produces γ-crystal form, which owns the best stability, high melting point, excellent humidity resistance and a special nature of direct compression. At present, it has been widely used in chewing gum and tablet candy.
Maltitol syrup is obtained by hydrogenation of high maltose glucose syrups. It is a kind of colorless , transparent and viscous liquid. It can be easily dissolved in water. It has a moderate sweet taste and the sweet intensity is lower than sucrose. Its characteristics includes heat-resistance, acid-resistance ,water based and anti-ferment .
D-xylose, commonly called wood sugar, is a natural 5-carbon sugar(pentose) obtained from the xylan rich portion of hemicellulose from plant cell walls and fibre. It 's White crystal or powder, soluble in water.
L-Arabinose is white crystalline powder with sweet flavor and melting point of 154—158℃. It’s easily soluble in water and glycerol, slightly soluble in ethanol and not soluable in aether. It is highly stable under the condition of heat and acid. As low-calorie sweetener, it has been approved to be the healthy food additive by American Bureau of Food and Drug Supervision and Health and Human Services Department of Japan. Also it has been authorized new resource food by Health Department of China.
